Description of content: The Requirements regulate the importation of day-old poultry and birds and hatching eggs. This amendment pertains to the revision of transportation requirement of hatching eggs. Prohibition against transit (change of vehicles) through countries/zones infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza is maintained. However, in the amended Requirements, when the hatching eggs are transported in closed containers in compliance with the "Regulations of Import Quarantine Operation for Animal Products Transported by Closed Container", they are allowed to transit (change of vehicles) through countries/zones infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza. The other parts of the Requirements remain unchanged.
