Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Regulation of the Chairman of NADFC RI No. 1 Year 2013 on Electronic Registration of Processed Food (10 pages, in Indonesian)

Description of content: This regulation described the procedure electronic registration for processed food based on level of risk as following criteria:

1.         Costumer target

2.         Material ingredients

3.         Acidity and water activity

4.         Inclusion of nutrition or health claims on labels

5.         Manufacturing process by specific technology, example irradiation, genetic engineering, and organic products

Types of processed food which can be done through electronically registration determine by the Deputy of Food Safety and Hazardous Substances Control.

The applicant should apply through website http://www.pom.go.id. to obtain ID and password before applying electronic registration for processed food.

E-Registration Requirements for processed food refer to the Chairman of NADFC Regulation No.HK.03.1.5.12.11.099552011 on Processed Food Registration.

Objective and rationale, including the nature of urgent problems where applicable:

1.         To protect people from the food products which do not meet safety and quality requirements;

2.         To enhance the processed food registration service to make it faster, effective, efficient, transparent, and accountable;

3.         As guidelines for electronic registration.
